The red color has GRAY in it
Awesome jacket, just wanted to point out that the picture for the red color is not right. The shoulders and sleeves are actually gray color (the body is red.) I guess North Face just took a picture of one color and PhotoShopped it. Just wanted to give future shoppers heads up.
Just awesome
I like this jacket because whoever designed it was probably a climber or at least spent some time on the mountain. Great fit and flexibility that allows me to actually move. Pockets are positioned high, so when I'm wearing a harness I can actually get into those pockets. Shoulders do not rise when I'm climbing so I can actually wear the jacket while climbing without looking and feeling ridiculous. This a lightweight jacket that will work great in spring/fall conditions, when you need little protection from weather while climbing/trekking/mountaineering. For all of you North Face kids wearing this to baseball practice or whatever, yes, it will work on flat surfaces as well.
Thin and breathable
Much thinner soft shell jacket than some other pieces out there, great for spring/summer hikes and climbs. Finally a piece that is actually designed for an alpine environment where you will climb and wear helmet. Zippers are positioned higher and shoulders are articulated. Good amount of stretch too. North Face quality and warranty are a plus. I'm keeping this jacket.
